| Description: | Christensen Farms, one of the top pork producers in the nation, is currently seeking a self-driven and talented leader to oversee a region of company owned sow farms in Nebraska. The Sow Service Manager will have immediate responsibility to direct and oversee the supervision of care, maintenance, and management of sow sites and to supervise the sow farm management group to ensure achievement of goals in the areas of production, employee development, and cost containment. |
| Duties: | �Responsible for the leadership, coaching, development, and supervision of Farm Managers, sow farm employees, and overall sow system within assigned geographical region
�Work closely with the Farm Managers and Nursery, Grow Finish, and other internal support groups to maintain a clear understanding of pig flow, herd health, pig transportation, and current sow system production issues
�Provide input to the recruitment process and participate in developing and executing strategic staffing plans
�Monitor and assist with the hiring, orientation, and training of all new and current employees
�Develop and facilitate individual development plans for Farm Manages and staff
�Assist in the development of training programs and monitor their use and effectiveness
�Monitor safety issues and implement safe workplace practices for staff
�Support and promote company policies and procedures, including the implementation of standard operating procedures and best practices for environmental stewardship
�Perform and comply with practices that promote bio-security

| Qualifications: | �3-5 years of sow production experience
�Associates or Bachelor�s degree in Animal Science or agricultural related degree is a plus
�Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
�Outstanding attention to detail and organizational ability
�Proven ability to make timely and appropriate problem solving and decision making decisions
�Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
�Display a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and strategic thought
�Proven ability to effectively lead people and manage by example
�Strong interpersonal skills
�Ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment
