| Description: | The Environmental Resource Technician is responsible for implementing companywide environmental management systems and to direct and execute nutrient management for CF company production; provide professional and technical assistance to cooperators and contract growers and to enhance the value of CF plant food through product and market development, production operations support, and other agronomic services.
Benefiting from an analytical and critical mind, this job requires strong problem-solving skills, with a technical orientation. This job demands knowledge and expertise and to do it successfully depends on understanding detailed information, hands-on involvement, careful follow-up and very disciplined but limited delegation. Central to this job is the need to weigh all decisions carefully and thoroughly, based on expertise in order to avoid unpredictable risk.

| Duties: | � Prepare required environmental documents to regulatory agencies as outlined in permits
� Assist in coordination and support of site permitting by preparing necessary submittals and representing the company in the permitting process
� Manage environmental testing, data collection, and interpret and report critical environmental information to company and farm management
� Perform environmental review and audit of existing sites through various monitoring activities including air emissions, water, and storage structures
� Establish nutrient budgets for production facilities and available crop land
� Maintain manure application records
� Manure inventory tracking and forecasting of water usage and find resolution for issues
� Hire and coordinate the scheduling of custom applicators
� Promote plant food value of manure nutrients and other agronomy services
� Assist and Support with neighbor relations including public hearings and dust control for feed delivery and manure applications
� Assisting the Agronomy team by field mapping, coordinating soil sampling, crop scouting/nutrient assessment/crop diagnostics, GIS data processing, and fertility tracking and optimization

| Qualifications: | � BS or BA degree within an agriculture or science based major is preferred, or equivalent experience.
� Minimum three years experience in environmental management.
� Must have knowledge of scientific, practical and management principles with a strong agronomy background and customer service experience.
� A CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) certificate is an asset to this position, but not required.
